A sex worker shows off her late night dress at their living quarters which is also where they bring clients at night in Tete, Tete province, Mozambique May 11, 2018. The NGO, International Centre for Reproductive Health (ICRH) lost it's US funding in 2018 to help sex workers in the Tete province. ICRH would help sex workers become peer educators so they could help educate women about their rights and their health. Since ICRH has been defunded, there has been another local organization that has stepped in, but they don't understand the issues as well, and the peer educators find it harder to work with them.

15-month-old baby Beywar Khodeida, bottom center, sleeps as his family starts the day at their family home in the deserted village of Doukoure near Sinjar Mountain, Iraq. The 15 month old, who was born just as the family was fleeing ISIS was given his name Beywar, which means 'one without a home.' The family came back to the house in order to clean up and make sure it was ok. They hadn't been back since the village of Doukoure fell to ISIS and all the residents were forced to leave or face possible death. After ISIS eventually retreated from the village only one resident has permanently come back as many homes were destroyed and people were still too fearful to return.

Gloria Steinem, 71 (at the time the photo was taken), entered the feminist movement the day she covered Red Stockings abortion speak-out for New York magazine, and finally owned the abortion she had had several years earlier. She describes her abortion as the first time she acted in her own life, rather than let things happen to her. She had her abortion when she was 22. Gloria went on to found several pro-choice organizations, including Voters for Choice and Ms. Magazine and considers reproductive freedom to be the most significant contribution of the 2nd wave feminism.

Teachers and helpers set up for a child's quiz in the playroom of a rehabilitation center for former ISIS wives, in Aktau, Kazakstan, Monday July 22, 2019. The Kazakh government converted an old day camp into a "rehabilitation center". There, the women, who usually come with their children, get treatment from psychologists and moderate Muslim imams intended to cure their radicalism and re-integrate them into society.

In 2014, 38 members of Erison Turay's family died from the deadly Ebola virus, which has killed over 11,000 across West Africa. Erison founded the Ebola Survivor's Soccer Club as a support network for survivors and a means to battle negative stigmas in the community.

Midwife students hangout on the boardwalk, in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, July 27, 2017. All of these students, who are in their first year of midwifery school didn't know that abortion was legal except in special cases. None of them had boyfriends at the moment, but some had in the past. One had broken up with a boy because he cheated on her, and another because she 'needed to be free'. Cambodia has a very traditional culture, which makes it hard for young women to meet friends or boys outside the home, particularly in rural areas. But in the cities, urban teenage life is radically different from that of their country counterparts. Although still very conservative, and city girls are subject to strict curfews, they also can spend their free time with friends prowling through malls and sitting on boardwalks, eating out, or skateboarding.
